The

Briddon/Buchanon Derby

This is not your average Kentucky Derby Party, it's the social event of the season in this quaint sourthern Kentucky town.  Scottsville, is home to the Briddon/Buchanon Derby and the party is celebrating it's 20th year at this location.

The party's roots began in the late 1970s in Louisville, Kentucky when a young Rogerlynne Briddon invited friends from WKU to her appartment in Louisville for the celebration of the Kentucky Derby.

The tradition continued through the 1980s with the help of founding members Don Briddon, John and Elizabeth Buchanon, Shannon and Mindy Weaver.

In the mid 1990s, the party was moved to it's current location at 204 West Cherry Street, Scottsville, Kentucky and through a leveraged buyout in the mid 2000s, the Weavers left the group and headed back to Louisville, where they still reside today.

The BBD as it's called has become not only the best Derby party in the nation, but it's also a great annual

Kentucky family reunion.

" A tradition like no other!"
